A Dave Brubeck Christmas
A Dave Brubeck Christmas is a jazz album by Dave Brubeck, released in 1996 on Telarc Jazz Tone #83410.[3] It is a recording of solo piano pieces which were recorded at Ambient Recording Studio in Stamford, Connecticut on June 6th and 8th, 1996. The liner notes are written by Dave Brubeck.[1]
Background
In addition to several Christmas classics, Brubeck includes two original compositions, "Run, Run, Run to Bethlehem" and "To Us Is Given."[1] Ken Dryden at Allmusic calls "Joy to the World" and "Winter Wonderland" as "treasures" and states the entire cd is "worth repeated hearings."[1] The album made the top-10 on Billboad's Top Jazz Albums chart,[4] and was listed among the best-selling jazz albums of 1997.[5]
