ACT Alberta (short for Action Coalition on Human Trafficking Alberta) is a Canadian coalition of Government of Alberta representatives, non-governmental organizations, community organisations, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.[1] ACT Alberta provides resources to help front-line workers identify potential trafficking situations and aid victims of human trafficking. The coalition also raises awareness of human trafficking in Alberta.[2]

About

ACT Alberta brings together a diverse group of organizations (including NGOs, the RCMP, community groups, and provincial representatives) to respond to human trafficking in Alberta. The organization operates mainly out of Calgary and Edmonton and holds regular meetings in these cities to coordinate and improve the response to human trafficking. Smaller communities are also involved in ACT Alberta activities, including Red Deer, Fort McMurray, Lac La Biche, Grand Prairie, Medicine Hat, and Lethbridge. ACT Alberta uses a grassroots approach to encourage local communities to form their own ACT committees.[3]

ACT Alberta relies primarily on funding from the provincial and federal government.[4]
