The club was founded in 1924 and played for most of its history in national Italians championships, especially in Serie C.

On 30 June 2012 it was excluded from Italian professional football after does not join 2012–13 championship of Lega Pro Seconda Divisione.[1]

A new club was immediately refounded in the summer 2012 as A.S.D. Città di Giulianova 1924, acquiring the sports title of Eccellenza Abruzzo club Cologna Paese, based in Roseto degli Abruzzi.[2]
