9949 Brontosaurus is a main belt asteroid. It orbits the Sun once every 3.61 years.[2]
Discovered on September 22, 1990 by E. W. Elst it was given the provisional designation "1990 SK6". It was later renamed "Brontosaurus" after Brontosaurus, a deprecated genus of dinosaur, now properly called Apatosaurus.[3]
