9420 Dewar (1995 XP4) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on December 14, 1995 by Spacewatch at Kitt Peak. It orbits the sun, completing one orbit every 3.4189 years. It is named after James Dewar (1842-1923), who was a Scottish-born chemist and physicist, and who studied chemical reactions at low temperature.
