8 Aquarii is a blue-white sub-giant of the spectral class A4IV in the constellation Aquarius with an absolute magnitude of 6.775. It is approximately 320 light-years away from Earth. It is approximately 1.7 solar masses and about 3 times hotter than our Sun and thus allows lines of ionized metals with an abundance of metals.

Since 8 Aquarii is a metal enriched, blue-white sub-giant it is highly plausible that it has orbiting planets and possible life-bearing planets.
