6th Scripps National Spelling Bee

The 6th Scripps National Spelling Bee was held in Washington, D.C. on May 27, 1930. Scripps Howard would not sponsor the Bee until 1941.

The winner was Helen Jensen of Iowa, correctly spelling the word albumen.[1][2] Ruth Des Jardins of Michigan came in second, followed by Milfred Froning of Indiana.[3][4]
