    5545 Makarov (1978 VY14) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on November 1, 1978 by L. V. Zhuravleva at Nauchnyj.

    The asteroid was named in honor of Askold Makarov, a Russian choreographer and Director of the Saint Petersburg State Academic Ballet from 1976 to 2000. The name was proposed by the Institute of Theoretical Astronomy.[1]
