5277 Brisbane (provisional designation: 1988 DO) is a Main Belt minor planet. It was discovered by Robert H. McNaught at the Siding Spring Observatory on February 22, 1988. It is named after the city of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The city is named for astronomer Sir Thomas Brisbane, a colonial governor who founded the first astronomical observatory in Australia. McNaught was born 20 kilometers from Brisbane's own birthplace in Scotland.
