477th Rifle Division (Soviet Union)

The 477th Rifle Division was a rifle division of the Soviet Red Army which began forming during World War II.

This was the designation given to a rifle division which started forming at Stalingrad in the North Caucasus Military District in December 1941. On 22 December the division was redesignated at the 266th Rifle Division.[1]
