25th Infantry Brigade (United Kingdom)
The 25th Infantry Brigade was a war-formed infantry brigade of the British Army during the First and Second World Wars. The brigade was created in 1914 from various Regular Army battalions serving around the British Empire as the 25th Brigade and saw action on the Western Front of the Great War, serving with the 8th Division at First Ypres, the Neuve Chapelle, the Somme and Third Ypres.
Recreated in the Second World War as the 25th Infantry Brigade on 1 November 1939, it saw action during the battles of France and Belgium in May 1940. After this it was based in the United Kingdom where it remained until 1944 as a training brigade within the 47th Infantry (Reserve) Division when it was disbanded on 31 August.
