21630 Wootensmith (1999 NM9) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on July 13, 1999 by the Lincoln Laboratory Near-Earth Asteroid Research Team at Socorro. The asteroid was named after American award finalist Lauren Wooten Smith by MIT Lincoln Laboratory's Near-Earth Asteroid Research program for her research titled "Biological Implications of Sediment Concentrations of Mercury Near Olin Chlor-alkali Facility, Phase Three: Savannah River" presented at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
