The 2016 CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Championship, the 4th edition of the CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament, is a women's football tournament to determine which national teams qualify for the women's football tournament at the 2016 Summer Olympics from the CONCACAF (North, Central America and the Caribbean) region. The hosts and dates of the tournament have yet to be confirmed by CONCACAF (information from the IOC and FIFA lists 21–31 January 2016 as the provisional dates of the tournament).[1]
A total of eight teams will play in the final tournament. The three teams from the North American Zone (NAFU) (Canada, Mexico and the United States) qualify directly for the final tournament, while two teams from the Central American Zone (UNCAF) and three teams from the Caribbean Zone (CFU) qualify for final tournament via their respective regional qualification tournaments.
The top two teams will qualify for the women's football tournament at the 2016 Summer Olympics.[1]
Qualification
There will be regional qualification tournaments held to determine the three qualifiers from the Caribbean and two from Central America who will join Canada, Mexico and the United States at the final tournament.
