The 2015 TCU Horned Frogs football team will represent Texas Christian University (TCU) in the 2015 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Playing as a member of the Big 12 Conference (Big 12), the team will play its home games at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.

Previous season

The 2014 TCU Horned Frogs football team finished the regular season 11-1, with their only loss to rank #5 Baylor, 58-61. TCU knock out two other top 10 teams during the season, #4 Oklahoma and #7 Kansas State. The Horned Frogs made it all the way to #3 in the College Football Playoff Rankings and was in the mix to be apart of the all new College Football Playoffs until the final rankings dropped TCU from #3 to #6 behind ranked #5 Baylor. The Horned Frogs was not eligible to be apart of the playoffs but was invited to play in the 2014 Peach Bowl against the Ole Miss Rebels of the Southeastern Conference. The Horned Frogs won against the Ole Miss Rebels in Atlanta, Georgia with a score of 42-3.

Schedule

TCU announced their 2015 football schedule on November 19, 2014. The 2015 schedule consist of 6 home and away games in the regular season. The Horned Frogs will host Big 12 foes Baylor, Kansas, Texas, and West Virginia and will travel to Iowa State, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech.[1]

The Horned Frogs will host two non conference games against in–state rivals SMU and Stephen F. Austin and will travel to its other non conference foe Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota. TCU will meet the Minnesota Golden Gophers in Minneapolis for the first time since 1974.

The National "Way Too Early" rankings of most of the major sports publications, issued after the end of the previous season looking forward to the next season ten months hence, had TCU ranked for the 2015-16 season at #1 (ESPN-Martin Rickman),[3] #2 (Sports Illustrated),[4] #2 (CBSSports),[5] #2 (ESPN-Mark Schlabach)[6] and #3 (USA Today Amway Coaches Poll).[7]
