2015 Setanta Sports Cup

2015 Setanta Sports Cup
Country  Northern Ireland &
Republic of Ireland Republic of Ireland
Teams 4 or 16

The 2015 Setanta Sports Cup will be the tenth staging of the annual all-Ireland football competition.

The format is yet to be decided, but two options are to be considered. One proposal is that 16 teams would take part (8 from each jurisdiction) in a straight knock-out competition; and the other is that four teams would take part, with the league champions and cup winners of each jurisdiction playing each other in two-legged semi-finals, thus ensuring a north-south final. The latter option would take place over the three weekends following the 2015 Irish Cup final. The first proposal is dependent on extra sponsorship being obtained.[1]

Prize money

The minimum prize fund, based on the four-team proposal, will be 60,000 with €40,000 going to the winners, the runners-up collecting €10,000, and the losing semi-finalists collecting €5,000 each.[2]
