The 2015 Rugby Championship is the fourth edition of the expanded annual southern hemisphere championship consisting of Argentina, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
This years Championship will be a reduced Championship, with each team playing each other once rather than twice at home and away. This is so that teams have a longer preparation time ahead of the 2015 Rugby World Cup which starts on 18 September. However, it was announced that Argentina will host a second match against South Africa on 15 August, as a Rugby World Cup warm-up rather than a Rugby Championship match. While New Zealand will host Australia in Auckland on the same day, which will act as the second Bledisloe Cup test and as a Rugby World Cup warm-up.[1]
The tournament is now for sponsorship reasons known as The Castle Rugby Championship in South Africa, The Investec Rugby Championship in New Zealand, The Castrol Edge Rugby Championship in Australia and The Personal Rugby Championship in Argentina.
