The 2015–16 VCU Rams men's basketball team will represent Virginia Commonwealth University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It will be the 48th season of the University fielding a men's basketball program. The program will be lead by Will Wade, who will leading the program for his first season after previously coaching Chattanooga. Wade replaces former head coach, Shaka Smart, who resigned from VCU for the vacancy at Texas. The Rams enter the season as the defending Atlantic 10 Tournament champions.

Previous Season

The 2014–15 VCU Rams finished the season with an overall record of 26–10, with a record of 12–6 in the Atlantic 10 regular season for fourth-place finish. In the 2015 Atlantic 10 Tournament, the Rams won their first conference tournament since 2012, and their first Atlantic 10 title, defeating Dayton 65–61 in the championship game. The Rams received an automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament which they lost in the second round to Ohio State.
