2014 in Swedish music
The following is a list of notable events and releases that are expected to happen or have already happened in 2014 in music in Sweden.
Events
February
- The Melodifestivalen semi-finals took place on February 1, 8, 15, and 22. One semi-final took place each of the four days. During each semi-final a panel of jurors voted for the entries and the two highest vote receivers from each semi-final would play in the Final.
March
- The Melodifestivalen second chance took place on March 1 and the final was on March 8, 2014.[1] Sanna Nielsen's song "Undo (Sanna Nielsen song)" won the competition.
April
- Swedes Max Martin, Ilya Salmanzadeh and Shellback produced "Problem" by Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea.[2][3]
July
- Ghost (Swedish band) will perform at the European Sonisphere Festival.[4]
December
Album and Singles releases
March
- Tove Lo released her album Truth Serum on March 3. The album speaks about a love and personal story.[5]
- First Aid Kit (band) released their single, My Silver Lining, a folk-pop song.[6]
- Kent (band) released La Belle Epoque on March 12.
April
- Tigerdrottningen, the eleventh studio album by Kent, was released on April 30.
May
- On May 13, 2014, Avatar (Swedish band)'s album Hail the Apocalypse is scheduled for release.[7]
June
- On June 10, 2014, First Aid Kit (band)'s third album Stay Gold will be released in the United States.[8]
