Background

This season the club have three main sponsors, of which are all Tamworth based companies. In this unique sponsorship move, Bradley Scott Windows, J Clarke Transport and Solus Coaches have all agreed to become Home Kit Club Sponsors for the next three seasons.[1] This will be Solus Coaches third season overall as a main sponsor. Manager Dale Belford remained in charge despite the club's relegation from the Conference Premier.[2]

Pre-season

On 20 May 2014, Michael Townsend was the first player to commit to the club for the forthcoming season.[3] Newly promoted Premier League side, Burnley offered Kaiyne Woolery a pre-season trial with the view to a move. West Bromwich Albion, Gillingham and Crewe Alexandra also showed an interest in Woolery.[4] Midfielder Claudiu Hoban re-joined his former side Corby Town following a brief stint at the club.[5] Nuneaton Town trio James Belshaw, Jon Adams and Connor Taylor were all linked with a move to the club.[6] On 3 June 2014 all three of them signed for the club.[7] Former Bedworth United manager Steve Farmer was confirmed as the club's new assistant manager.[8] Duane Courtney signed for Alfreton Town.[9] Former Cambridge United youth team goalkeeper, Phil Smith joined from local rivals Atherstone Town.[10] Jessy Reindorf joined Conference South side Sutton United.[11] Stuart Hendrie signed for Midland Football League Premier Division side Basford United.[12] Kevin Thornton joined the club on a permanent deal following a loan spell at the back end of last season from Wrexham.[13] A.F.C. Halifax Town.[19] Andy Todd returned to the Conference Premier with A.F.C. Telford United as a player-coach.[20] Darren Byfield rejoined his former side and league rivals Solihull Moors.[21] Former captain Paul Green rejoined the club following his release from Forest Green Rovers at the end of last season.[22] Last seasons assistant manager, Scott Lindsey joined Swindon Town U18 as their new manager.[23] Swindon Town striker, Kayden Jackson joined the club following a successful trial period.[24] Utility player Rob Purdie joined the club from Hereford United.[25] James Wren joined local rivals Nuneaton Town.[26] Justin Richards joins 8th tier side Sutton Coldfield Town.[27]

September

Lee Hildreth left the club to join Northern Premier League Premier Division side Rushall Olympic.[41] George Grayson was released from the club[42] and went on to join Northern Premier League Premier Division side Ramsbottom United.[43] Following a very disappointing start to the season, Dale Belford agreed to leave the club by mutual consent.[44] Rob Purdie was announced as caretaker manager with Paul Green as caretaker assistant.[45] Tamworth appoint former Wrexham player-manager Andy Morrell as the club's new player-manager.[46] Morrell made Dominic Smith his first signing for the club. Smith joined 28 day loan deal from Shrewsbury Town.[47]
