The 2014–15 season will be Dumbarton's third consecutive season in the second tier of Scottish football and second in the Scottish Championship, having been promoted from the Scottish Second Division at the end of the 2011–12 season.[1] Dumbarton will also compete in the Challenge Cup, League Cup and the Scottish Cup. The season marks Ian Murray's second full season as manager.
The season has continued Dumbarton's poor form in the Scottish Challenge Cup after being knocked out the competition by Stranraer in the first round.
