The 2013 season is FC Talanta's first season in FKF Division One and their first season in the second tier of the Kenyan football league system. They will also be competing in the FKF President's Cup for a second consecutive season.

Overview

Following the expansion of the league from 40 clubs to 49 clubs, FC Talanta management, lead by French sports business professional Jérôme J. Dufourg, asked the Football Kenya Federation to study their application to secure a spot in the newly expanded division. On 25 February 2013, the executive committee of the Kenyan Football Federation granted FC Talanta a place in the FKF Division One.
