2012 African U-20 Cup of Nations for Women
The 2012 African U-20 Cup of Nations for Women was the sixth edition of the African U-20 Cup of Nations for Women. It is the African qualifying tournament to the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup held in Japan. 19 teams entered the competition, but due to withdrawals only 16 actually played matches.
Preliminary round
The preliminary round was played on 28 and 29 October 2011 (first leg) and 19 November 2011 (second leg).

- 1 Guinea withdrew from competition before the start of the 1st leg. As a result, Sierra Leone qualified for the next round.[1]
- 2 Comoros withdrew from competition before the start of the 2nd leg. As a result, Botswana qualified for the next round.
First round
The first round will be held on 17–19 February 2012 (first leg) and 2–3 March 2012 (second leg).

- 1 Sierra Leone withdrew from competition before the start of the 1st leg due to a lack of funds. As a result, Nigeria qualified for the next round.[2]

The second round will be held on 30–31 Mar or 1 Apr (first leg) and 13–15 April 2012 (second leg).[3]

The winners of the two third Round matches will qualified directly to the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup held in Japan.
