The 2012–13 Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball team represented Iowa State University in the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach, Fred Hoiberg, was in his third season as a head coach. The team played its home games at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa and were members of the Big 12 Conference. They finished the season with 23–12 overall, 11–7 in Big 12 play to finish in fourth place. They advanced to the semifinals of the 2013 Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament where they lost to Kansas. They received an at-large bid to the 2013 NCAA Tournament and received a #10 seed in the West Region. They defeated Notre Dame in the second round before falling in the third round to Ohio State.
