Since 1986, all states of Malaysia has hosted the Sukma Games except for Kelantan and Perlis. Prior to the 2010 games, Malacca has yet to host any Sukma Games. The historical city, having hosted the 13th Sukma Games is hosting the games for the first time and many of its facilities were upgraded before the 2010 Sukma Games.
