The 2002 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) SamsungGovernors' Cup was the first conference of the 2002 PBA season. It started on February 10 and ended on May 26, 2002. The tournament requires two imports per each team.

Rule Changes

In an unprecedented move to prepare our national team to the coming 2002 Asian Games in Pusan, South Korea, the PBA Commissioner's office proposed several rule changes to take effect in the 2002 Season.
