The 2001–02 Detroit Pistons season was the 61st season of the franchise, the 54th in the National Basketball Association (NBA), and the 45th in the Detroit area.[1] Detroit finished first place in the Central Division with a 50–32 record. In the playoffs, they would defeat the Toronto Raptors in the first round, but would lose to the Boston Celtics in the semifinals.
