The 2000–01 Detroit Pistons season was the 60th season of the franchise, the 53rd in the National Basketball Association (NBA), and the 44th in the Detroit area.[1] Forward Grant Hill was traded to the Orlando Magic for Ben Wallace, and Chucky Atkins. Detroit finished fifth in the Central Division with a 32–50 record, missing the playoffs.
