1992 Summer Olympics national flag bearers
Part of a series on |

During the Parade of Nations section of the 1992 Summer Olympics opening ceremony, athletes from the participating countries marched into the arena. Each delegation was led by a flag bearer and a woman carrying the country name sign. The Parade of Nations was organized in French names of the countries. Due to the political sensitivity surrounding the use of Catalan, both Catalan and Spanish were not used to organize the parade order. However, Catalan and Spanish were used with the country names on the name boards and were also used to announce the country names. Per tradition, Greece entered first and Spain entered last. Athletes from Independent Olympic Participants did not attend the parade of nations, but still compete in the games.[1] Unified Team marched with Olympic flag, then followed by 12 flag bearers carrying the flags of 12 former Soviet Republics.[2][3]
