1992–93 Philadelphia 76ers season
The 1992-93 NBA season was the 76ers 44th season in the NBA and 30th season in Philadelphia.[1] During the offseason, the Sixers traded Charles Barkley to the Phoenix Suns for Jeff Hornacek, Andrew Lang, and Tim Perry. Philadelphia finished sixth in the Atlantic Division with a 26-56 record. During a nationally televised broadcast game between the Suns and the Sixers, Charles Barkley received a standing ovation for the fans at the Spectrum. When the Sixers were introduced the fans booed loudly at them. The Sixers also suffered two defeats that were greater that 50 points.(at Kings 154-98, at Sonics 149-93). As the NBA in the 1990's emphasized more defensive play, head coach Doug Moe tried to implement a up-tempo attack offense similar to his Nuggets teams of the 1980's, which failed miserably. He was replaced by Fred Carter during the 1993 season.
