1981 U.S. Women's Open Golf Championship

The 1981 U.S. Women's Open Golf Championship was contested from July 23 to July 26 at La Grange Country Club in La Grange, Illinois. It was the 36th edition of the U.S. Women's Open.

This event was won by Pat Bradley.

It was at this Open that Kathy Whitworth had her best chance to win the U.S. Women's Open, the only major championship to elude her. She opened the final round leading by one shot but shot a final round 74 to finish solo third. Whitworth however became the first woman golfer to win one million dollars on the LPGA Tour.[1]
