The 1978 Honda Wildcats season was the 4th season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

Summary

First Conference: Formerly known as Mariwasa Panthers, which finish second to Crispa Redmanizers in the All-Filipino Conference last season, the duo of Billy Robinson and Adriano "Jun" Papa, who played only 3 games for Honda, has left to joined newcomer Filmanbank, Coach/Team Manager Emerson Coseteng, assisted by Big Boy Reynoso, opted to sign another American, Cisco Oliver, and acquired Alejandrito Miego from Royal, the Wildcats didn't win a single game in the first round of eliminations and ended up last with a 2-win, 12-loss record. Second Conference: After a poor finish, coach Coseteng decided to hire two versatile imports, Jeffrey Randell and Paul Marigney, the two combined for averages of 56 points but with very little support from the locals, Honda landed in sixth place and bow out with a 6-8 card.
