197856 Tafelmusik is an asteroid discovered by David D. Balam on Aug. 21, 2004.[1] There have been precovery images dating back to 2001.[1] It is named for the Baroque orchestra in Toronto.[3]
Tafelmusik is a term from the 16th and 17th centuries for Baroque era music that was used as background music for feasts, banquets and other outdoor events.
