The 1974 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was played from May to September, 1974. Galway were playing in their third All-Ireland Final in four years but they lost another final, this time to Dublin. The final score was 0-14 to 1-06. The Player of the Year award was awarded to Kevin Heffernan, the first and only time a manager has received the award so far.
