The 1947 World Snooker Championship was a snooker tournament held at the Leicester Square Hall in London, England.[1]
Walter Donaldson won his first World title by defeating Fred Davis 82–63 in the final,[1] although he already reached the winning margin at 73–49,[2] and became the first Scottish world champion.[3] Davis made the highest break of the tournament with 135.[4] John Pulman made his first appearance at this tournament and later he became eight-time champion between 1957 and 1968.
