The 1943 Skwentna earthquake struck at 14:32 UTC on November 3. Its epicenter was near the small rural community of Skwentna, Alaska. The shock registered 7.4 on the surface wave magnitude scale and had a maximum Mercalli Intensity of V (Moderate). Doors moved and windows clattered in Anchorage.[2]
