Season 192021 was the 44th season in which Dumbarton competed at a Scottish national level, entering the Scottish Football League for the 22nd time and the Scottish Cup for the 33rd time.

Overview

Dumbarton finished 21st, out of 22, in the First Division with 24 points.[1] In addition, Dumbarton reached the fourth round of the Scottish Cup before losing to Rangers.

Locally, Dumbarton again failed to progress from the sectional stage of the Dumbartonshire Cup and in the Dumbartonshire Charity Cup following a draw with Vale of Leven in the semi final, a replay date could not be arranged and Dumbarton agreed to scratch from the competition.

Elsewhere, a friendly was played against Rothesay Juniors.

Note that George Livingstone was replaced by James Collins as team manager in September 1920.
