Season 191819 was the 42nd season in which Dumbarton competed at a Scottish national level, entering the Scottish Football League for the 20th time and the Victory Cup, following the end of the Great War.

Overview

Dumbarton finished 15th, out of 18, in the First Division with 22 points.[1] In addition, Dumbarton were beaten in the first round of the Victory Cup by St Mirren, after a 0-0 draw.

Locally, Dumbarton failed to qualify for the final of the Dumbartonshire Cup and lost out in the finals of both the Dumbartonshire Charity Cup and the Clydebank Charity Cup, to Dumbarton Harp and Clydebank respectively.

In March 1919, James Collins gave up the post of team manager to concentrate on his club secretary duties, to be replaced by George Livingstone.
