Season 191011 was the thirty-fourth season in which Dumbarton competed at a Scottish national level, entering the Scottish Football League for the twelfth time, the Scottish Qualifying Cup for the ninth time and the Scottish Consolation Cup for the second time.

Overview

Despite a slow start to the campaign, Dumbarton were crowned champions of the Second Division with 31 points, which included a 100% home record.[1] However promotion to the 'top flight' was again denied in the subsequent 'election' process. There was disappointment also in the attempt to qualify for the Scottish Cup, by only reaching the third round of the Scottish Qualifying Cup before losing to Galston, after two replays. The Scottish Consolation Cup however brought some cheer but Dumbarton eventually lost out in the final to St Johnstone.

Locally, due to league and national cup commitments, it was decided that the club would be unable to fulfil their obligations in the Dumbartonshire Cup competition, and Dumbarton withdrew after having played two games.

Elsewhere 6 'friendly' matches, including 'benefit' games, were played during the season, winning 3, drawing 2 and losing 1, scoring 13 goals and conceding 5.
