Season 190910 was the thirty-third season in which Dumbarton competed at a Scottish national level, entering the Scottish Football League for the eleventh time, the Scottish Cup for the twenty-eighth time and the Scottish Qualifying Cup for the eighth time.

Overview

Dumbarton again finished 4th in the Second Division with 23 points, 10 behind champions Leith Athletic.[1] Dumbarton once again failed to gain promotion in the subsequent 'election' process. For the first time in five years the club was successful in qualifying for the Scottish Cup, by reaching the semi final of the Scottish Qualifying Cup before losing to Bathgate. The first round draw in the Scottish Cup was not kind to Dumbarton, but they put up a stiff resistance in losing only by the odd goal to Celtic.

Locally, the Dumbartonshire Cup continued to be played on a league basis. Dumbarton qualified for the final but as in the five previous seasons lost out, this time to Dumbarton Harp.

Elsewhere 3 'friendly' matches were played during the season, winning 1 and losing 2, scoring 5 goals and conceding 5.
