1902 Shaposhnikov (1972 HU) is an outer main-belt asteroid discovered on April 18, 1972 by T. Smirnova at Nauchnyj. It is the most recent outer main belt asteroid discovered that is ~100+ km in diameter.[2] The asteroid is roughly 97 km in diameter and has a dark albedo.[1] 1390 Abastumani with a diameter of roughly 102 km was discovered in 1935.
