The 17th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards Night was held on April 27, 1969 for the Outstanding Achievements for the year 1968.

"Igorota" of Nepomuceno Productions is rich in cultural heritage, breathtaking views, the big budgeted melodrama won 8 Famas Awards including the FAMAS Award for Best Picture and Best actress for Charito Solis. This film was best remembered not only of Miss Solis superb and award-winning performance but her decision to bare in front of the screen. She had two scenes where she had a breast exposure.[1][2]
