1790 Volkov

1790 Volkov is a main belt asteroid with an orbital period of 1223.7667329 days (3.35 years).[1]

The asteroid was discovered on March 9, 1967.


It is named for Soviet cosmonaut Vladislav Volkov who flew on the Soyuz 11 mission and had the unfortunate distinction of being part of the second crew to die during a space flight.
