    1789 Dobrovolsky (1966 QC) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on August 19, 1966 by Chernykh, L. at Nauchnyj.

    It is named for Soviet cosmonaut Georgy Dobrovolsky who flew on the Soyuz 11 mission and had the unfortunate distinction of being part of the second crew to die during a space flight.
