1726 Hoffmeister (1933 OE) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on July 24, 1933 by Reinmuth, K. at Heidelberg.

This is the lowest numbered member of the small Hoffmeister family of asteroids. Based upon the low albedo, it was most likely formed from the breakup of a carbon-rich asteroid about 50100 km in diameter within the past several hundred million years.[1]
