159th (Cheshire) Brigade

For the equivalent formation in World War II, see 159th Infantry Brigade (United Kingdom).

The 159th (Cheshire) Brigade was an infantry brigade formation of the British Army that saw service during the Great War. The brigade was raised in 1908, when the Territorial Force was created, originally as the Cheshire Brigade and was assigned to the Welsh Division. In 1915 the brigade became the 159th (Cheshire) Brigade and the division the 53rd (Welsh) Division. The brigade served with the 53rd (Welsh) Division in the Middle East throughout the First World War.

A similar formation, the 159th Infantry Brigade saw service in World War II but contained no Cheshire connection.
