The 158th (North Wales) Brigade was a formation of the British Army during the First World War. It was assigned to the 53rd (Welsh) Division and served in the Middle East.

The 5th and 6th Battallions of the Royal Welch Fusiliers, 53rd. division, were involved in the Gallipoli campaign of 1915-1916, where they landed in August 1915.[1] including the Penmaenmawr Company of the 6th. battalion, known as "The Penmaenmawr Quarry Boys".[2] The battalions were evacuated form Gallipoli to Egypt in December 1915 and continued serving in the Middle Eastern theatre of World War I in Egypt and Palestine. In 1918 the 5th. and 6th. battalions were amalgamated on 2 August 1918 [3] to form the 5th/6th. battalion of the 53rd division.

The brigade took part in the Battle of Romani in August 1916, the Battle of El Buggar Ridge in October 1917 and the Action of Tell 'Asur in March 1918, where it fought off several counter-attacks by the Ottoman forces.
