- 1481 - Palazzo Loredan on the Grand Canal (Venice), designed by Mauro Codussi, is begun (completed 1509).
- 1482–1489 - Ginkaku-ji ("Temple of the Silver Pavilion") in Kyoto, Japan, is constructed.
