134th (2/1st Hampshire) Brigade
The 134th (2/1st Hampshire) Brigade was an infantry brigade formation of the Territorial Force of the British Army. It was raised during the Great War, as a duplicate of the 128th (1/1st Hampshire) Brigade, and assigned to the 45th (2nd Wessex) Division. With the division, the brigade served in British India during the First World War. The brigade was disbanded in September 1917.
The Territorial Force was disbanded in 1920 and later reformed as the Territorial Army. The brigade was reformed in 1939, as the 134th Infantry Brigade, when war with Nazi Germany seemed inevitable and was again assigned to the 45th (Wessex) Division. The division never saw active service overseas and was reduced to a Lower Establishment, meaning that it had fewer men and less equipment than divisions on a Higher Establishment, and acted in a home defence and training role.
