118th SS-Standarte

The 118th SS-Standarte was a command of the Allgemeine-SS that was formed in Eastern Germany (now Poland), during World War II. Headquartered in the city of Stargard, the Standarte was created on June 1, 1940 and served mainly as a transition command for SS recruits who wished to serve in eastern security services, such as the Einsatzgruppen or SD security commands, and first were required to serve in a mustering Allgemeine-SS formation.

The Standarte never rose above company strength. Its single commander, SS-Hauptsturmführer Hans Modrow, was detached on August 14, 1942 and the Standarte was formally disbanded.
