1112 Polonia is a main belt asteroid orbiting the Sun. It was discovered by Pelageya Fedorovna Shajn on August 15, 1928 at Simeis. It was independently discovered on the same day by Grigory Nikolaevich Neujmin. Its provisional designation was 1928 PE. It was named for the country of Poland; Polonia is the Latin name.[2]
